The article analyses the issue of freedom in classical philosophical thought based on the teachings of Plato and Aristotle. The reflections of these great classical philosophers can serve as inspiration for considering the issue of freedom in the modern world. The article presents freedom as the existence of the good, where the soul, in its pursuit of self-improvement, discovers true knowledge through reason. Furthermore, the considerations address the act of will as the ability to make decisions in opposition to the irrational surrender to passions.
