The genesis of psychology as a science in the concepts of the Greek philosophers.

Abstract

Modern psychology as a science often loses its roots. The above study analyzes the genesis and shows the evolutionary progress of the main object, which is the human soul. It was originally believed to be the seat of all mental processes. A review of individual periods of ancient philosophy clearly shows how knowledge about the states characterizing humans gradually developed. Each representative of Greek philosophy contributes to the general knowledge of behavior, the operation and functioning of purely human phenomena such as consciousness, self-psychology, immortality of the soul. Today’s psychology has adopted them to better understand people and provide adequate help.
